about

This is a song I wrote for my housemates this past year. They've been there for me countless times and I consider them brothers. The opening line ''I watch the stars with a million other people'' comes directly from my one housemate's tattoo and the meaning he has prescribed to it. For the full story, be sure to swing by a concert or simply ask me in person and I'll be more than happy to let you know. Hope you enjoy, cheers!

lyrics

I watch the stars with a million other people,
he said as he counted the lucky ones
Each one a memory, held dear,
for the things that they had done

Standing in the front yard,
they watched the stars in the night skies
So many great times,
spent drinking till the sunrise

(chorus)
And they say, these are best years of our lives and I believe it
I can't imagine how it could get any better than this
The stories we will tell, of how we gave them hell
I dread the day when we'll have to say our farewell

Coming home at the end of another long day
and you take the worries away
who knows where we're going
but let come what may

The pieces seem to have fallen into place
oh these memories we can't replace
oh the memories, never let them fade
from this house, where they were made

And it's you, I'll always remember
telling my children the days when we were young
Pictures capture sincerity, the best parts of you and me
on the wall is where they'll be hung

Oh, we'll let the good times roll
as we toast to the days of old
We'll reminisce and we'll laugh
after every story told

(chorus)
And they say, these are best years of our lives and I believe it
I can't imagine how it could get any better than this
The stories we will tell, of how we gave them hell
I dread the day when we'll have to say our farewell

(bridge)
Life is worth living, love is worth giving
Time is worth taking for the memories we're making
Life is worth living, love is worth giving
Time is worth taking for the memories we're making

And they say, these are best years of our lives and I believe it
I can't imagine how it could get any better than this
The stories we will tell, of how we gave them hell
Oh I'll never say farewell
